Marcopolo Celebrates at Busworld: 5,000 Units of the 8th Generation Produced — The 5,000th Coach Heads to Mexico
At Busworld Europe 2025, Marcopolo marked a major milestone by celebrating the production of 5,000 units of its 8th Generation intercity coaches since the line’s launch. The symbolic 5,000th vehicle is a Paradiso G8 1350, purchased by Mexican operator ETN Turistar, part of the IAMSA Group, reinforcing Marcopolo’s growing international footprint.
Founded in 1991, ETN Turistar is recognized as a leader in luxury road transport across Mexico. Operating in 23 states and more than 70 destinations, the company is known for its strong focus on safety, punctuality, comfort, and premium service quality. Among its key features are certified drivers, real-time fleet tracking, and onboard entertainment systems.
In addition to the commemorative coach, ETN Turistar has also acquired 120 units of the double-decker Paradiso G8 1800, now in the final stages of delivery — a clear demonstration of its confidence in Marcopolo’s products and the strength of their long-term partnership.
Of the 5,000 8th Generation coaches produced so far, approximately 3,500 units have been delivered to the Brazilian market, while 1,500 units were exported to international customers.
Launched in 2021, the 8th Generation represented a significant leap forward in design, technology, safety, and comfort. Today, the models are produced at Marcopolo’s facilities in Brazil, China, Colombia, and Mexico, and were recently introduced to the Australian market, further expanding the brand’s global reach.
This achievement proves the success of our long-distance coach family and consolidates the 8th Generation as a truly global product,” said José Luis Moraes Goes, Director of International and Commercial Operations for Foreign Markets.
“In South America, countries like Peru, Chile, and Uruguay stand out alongside Brazil, while our international presence extends to Africa—with deliveries to South Africa and Côte d’Ivoire—and Asia, particularly the UAE and Qatar. The arrival of the 8th Generation in Australia marks the start of our operations in Oceania and reinforces our global mission.”
Goes added,
“We launched the 8th Generation during one of the most challenging periods in our history, when the bus industry in Brazil and around the world was facing uncertainty. Even so, the response
was overwhelmingly positive, and the models quickly became the preferred choice for operators in the markets we serve.”
The Paradiso G8 1350 measures 15,000 mm in length, 3,995 mm in height, and 2,600 mm in width, built on the Scania K500C B6X2*4NI Euro VI chassis. The model on display at Busworld features a premium configuration focused on comfort, safety, and technology.
